BRAMPTON, ON – The Association of Senior Clubs, Brampton, the city’s umbrella organization for seniors’ clubs, and 45 clubs across Brampton, including all of the Association’s current member clubs, have endorsed Patrick Brown for re-election as mayor in the October 26 municipal election. The Brown campaign says the joint endorsement is unprecedented in the city’s history.
“The Association of Senior Clubs, Brampton, representing seniors’ clubs and members of the seniors’ community across Brampton, has formally decided to endorse Patrick Brown for re-election as Mayor of Brampton in the 2026 municipal election,” said Jangir Singh Sehmby, President of the Association, in its official endorsement statement.
The Association says its decision is based on its assessment of matters affecting Brampton’s seniors, including free transit for eligible seniors, free recreation memberships for residents aged 65 and over, snow removal financial assistance for qualifying seniors, investment in parks, recreation and community facilities, and progress toward Brampton’s second hospital and expanded health care services.
“The Association will continue to advocate for the interests of seniors, including affordability, accessible transportation, health and wellness, social participation, community safety and improved access to municipal services.”

In a separate open letter signed by the leaders of all 45 clubs, the clubs point to measures they say have made it easier for older residents to stay active, connected and independent.
“We work with seniors every day and understand the importance of affordability, independence, staying active and connected, and having access to the services people need as they age,” the clubs write. “Mayor Brown has listened to Brampton’s seniors and delivered real results.”
According to the letter, Brampton issued 20,000 free senior transit passes in 2025 and another 15,000 in the first eight months of 2026. The City also issued 15,000 free senior recreation memberships in 2025 and 7,100 in the first six months of 2026. Through the Snow Removal Financial Assistance Program, eligible residents can receive up to $300 toward hiring a snow removal service, or up to $400 for corner lots.
“I’m grateful to the Association of Senior Clubs and all 45 seniors’ clubs for their support and for the work they do every day in our community. Their members have been clear about what matters: being able to get around, stay active, remain connected and access care close to home. I’ll keep listening and working to deliver for Brampton’s seniors.”
