BRAMPTON, ON – Unifor Local 1285 has endorsed Patrick Brown for re-election as Mayor of Brampton, citing his steadfast support for autoworkers and his work with the union to protect Canadian jobs and preserve auto assembly in Brampton.

“In the face of Trump’s egregious attacks on Canadian workers, Patrick Brown has been steadfast in his support for the auto industry and autoworkers in Brampton. As Mayor, Patrick Brown has held the line with our local union, working with us to preserve domestic auto assembly as Stellantis threatens to close and sell our plant. He has spoken in defense of Local 1285 members in the national and international news media and has proven himself an ally in our fight to protect Canadian jobs. We are proud to support Patrick Brown in his bid for re-election as Brampton’s Mayor and look forward to continuing our work, together, in the future.”

Vito Beato, President, Unifor Local 1285

Brown thanked Beato and the members of Local 1285 for their support and reaffirmed his commitment to Brampton’s autoworkers and their families.

“Brampton’s autoworkers have helped build Canada’s auto industry, and they deserve a future they can count on. I’m grateful to Vito Beato and the members of Local 1285 for their trust and support. I will continue standing with them in the fight to protect their jobs and keep auto assembly in Brampton.”
